Without meaning to, I ended up getting involved in 5 soaking and sprouting projects this weekend.

In this video, follow along with my exiting adventures in:

  • A Critical Ingredient of Soaking
  • Soaking lentils, for a Lentil Avocado Casserole this evening.
  • Sprouting black-eyed peas, for a dinner dish coming up in a few days.
  • Soaking almonds, along with my quickie recipe for almond milk.
  • Soaking rice, for a dinner dish tomorrow evening.
  • Soaking wheat berries, for a muesli breakfast tomorrow morning.

I’ve never tried soaking. But it looks good for eating raw food. I am just curious, do you use organic veggies in your raw food diet? I like veggies a lot but sometimes I am not sure of the veggies I buy (if there’s no organic veggies available) so I wash it well in running water and sometimes I use baking soda to wash my veggies before eating and cooking.

    Happy Halloween Gigi! :-)

I love soaking… It’s great for grains like wheat and oats, which you can use for muesli, cereal, even soups. And of course soaking nuts to make nut milk. Have you tried making your own almond milk yet? It’s super easy!

I do choose organic whenever possible. But, it’s not always possible, though the choice are improving all the time. Organic or not, it’s always a good idea to wash thoroughly, like you said. Even if it’s organic, there’s still the possibility of contamination from an adjacent farm.

Eating out is tough though. I had a big salad at a restaurant for lunch. You just don’t know what they’re putting in there. When you make it yourself, you get to control the quality.

    Happy Halloween Chuck! ^_^

I guess the best solution is to grow your own organic garden if you have space. I am trying to eat raw little by little but I can’t do it 100%. Btw, I forgot to tell you that your videos are good. I didn’t fall asleep watching you. (just kidding!) Keep posting and I love your articles.

OOoo I would so love to have an organic garden! First I’d need to get some dirt. Then I’d need to get a gardener. The poor plants would surely die under my care! ;-)

It’s okay to not be 100% raw. Every little bit helps.

How did you get started with raw food? What attracted you to it? Do you have any questions, or is there anything I can help with?

P.S. Thanks for your kind & encouraging words!

The love of my life told me about eating raw re: what Wayne Green is doing. You know with all the diseases now like the big C, we get these diseases because of the kind of food we eat. We would like to try it someday coz honestly I don’t think we can go back (as of now) to our pre-raw life. So I applaud you for your discipline and commitment. ;) So in the future if we want to start 100% in raw food diet I can always visit your site.
