How To Cross from Dream to Reality?

A river divides two lands: Dream on one side, Reality on the other. To get from Dream to Reality you must cross Action River. That is to say, dreams and ideas begin in your mind, and will stay there as mere thoughts until you take action. Action is what brings dreams and ideas to life.

Have you ever had a dream project? A trip you wanted to take. A business you wanted to start. A weight loss goal. A book you wanted to write.

You could plan and scheme until the end of time about your grand new business idea that promises to revolutionize the world. But until you DO something about it, it’s trapped in your head. It will go nowhere. Action is how you FREE your dreams and ideas into existence.

So, back to the river metaphor, in order to cross from Dream to Reality, you’ll need to row the boat across the river. In other words, take Action. Without that active rowing, you’ll just float on the river, taking you wherever the currents around you happen to go.

Would you rather be in control of your life, or feel like life is controlling you at every corner? That is the difference between taking action and being passive.

If you are not taking positive action to get to where you want, then you are letting other things and other people control your life. You are floating on the river, content to let the water push you around and take you wherever, even if it’s over the falls to your doom.

You have a choice. You can choose to row the boat. You can take charge and be in control of your destination.

Rowing the boat is good, yes?

Welcome to Raw Food Diet Now

Ah,  Welcome posts… Aren’t they grand?

It is a time for reflection.  You’ve just set up a shiny new blog.  The great wide future lies ahead, ripe for the taking.  And you think to yourself, “Now what the heck do I do??”

It’s like having to write a 1,000 page book report, and the first empty page is staring at you, mocking you with its sheer blankness.

As it is with many of the things that make life fun and interesting.  Any worthwhile endeavor has its challenges and obstacles to overcome.

Like, transitioning to a raw food diet, for instance.

But it’s true that the journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step.

Right now, I feel like this blog is a going to be a journey of at least 1,000 miles.

But I have taken a step in writing this welcome post.  A small step, that is sure, but a step nonetheless.  And certainly less daunting than thinking about the entire 1,000 miles all at once.

And I will continue to take steps…  A little each day.  Eventually, they’ll all add up to 1,000 miles.

Where do you want to go?  Take one small step today.  And tomorrow.  And the day after.  Keep it up until you arrive.

Don’t defeat yourself before you even begin by the focusing on the distance of the whole journey.  Do something that moves you in the right direction, no matter how much of a baby step it seems.
